Kelsie & I in The Big Apple All For Doing 3 minutes of Material Over the Phone, Amazing !!
Below are pictures of my 16 year old daughter Kelsie Ann and I in The Big Apple. For her Sweet 16 Buirthday present I took her to New York City. The trip was part of my prize package for winning the Portland Region of Sierra Mist's "Next Great Comic" Competition. We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Times Square South, also part of the prize package. We went to a taping of Conan O'Brien, a Dress Rehersal for the 31st Season Premiere of Saturday Night Live (and met half the cast), ate at Planet Hollywood and The Hard Rock, got some authentic New York Pizza, and literally shopped til we dropped. Daddy didn't get his baby girl a car, but I think this was a close second.

This is one of my favorite images
This is my good friend Hal. I took this picture on his birthday. I think he likes to be in pictures. |

Kelsie & Kenan Thompson
Kenan is the absolute coolest! It's been a pleasure watching him grow up to become one of today's hottest young comedy stars. He actually recognized me from the studio floor during the SNL Season Premiere Dress Rehersal and called out "Mustard Man, I thought that was you, what's up?" I looked at my daughter and saw her jaw almost hit the floor. I told her that I knew some famous people and they knew me in return. Kenan met us after the DR and again after the live taping. His picture and autograph stated it all. Thanks Kenan ! You Rock !

Kelsie & Fred Armison
Fred was also very cool. Once I told him I was a comic we started talking shop. We talked about Bumpershoot, up in Seattle. Fred just Headlined it this last Labor Day. He told me he loves the Pacific Northwest. If he comes back through he's gonna look me up and we'll hook up. That'd be cool. Fred, by the way, was also the hippest dressed memeber of the SNL crew. Lookin good Mr. Armiston ! |

Kelsie & Amy Poehler
Amy is one of the funniest women to EVER be on SNL. She is as lovely in person as she is funny on TV. She was gracious to stop and talk for a minute with us while she signed and posed with Kelsie. Thanks Amy !

Horatio Sanz & Kelsie
Horatio was everything you could expect from the current "Big Man" at SNL. He was very cool and extremely friendly. His bodyguard dude actually was the one who brought him over to meet us. I asked him to ever never again dress like a blonde chick. It scares Musty. Horatio is A-Number-One !! |

Kelsie & Chris Parnell
Chris was the last guy we got to meet. He was in no hurry and was actually kinda tripping out on the whole "Mustard Man" thing. We musta talked for 3 or 4 minutes. I told him that we loved his role of "Garth" in Anchorman, The legend of Ron Burgundy. He was very appreciative of the praise and comments. He said he was gonna Google me when he got home. We left shortly after this picture was taken. Too Bad. We missed Host Steve Carrel (The Office, The Daily Show). Darn it ! Well we were happy nonetheless.

Musty & "SNL Louis"
This is my new good friend Louis. Louis and his wife Jamie are SNL Lifers. Louis has been to over 500 live tapings and dress rehersals. He was even at the very first show. He and jamie have kinda been adpoted by the SNL cast and crew every year. They are definately considered family by many cast members. Louis was a veritable bank of knowledge and history of SNL, past and present. Jamie put me on her newsletter mailing list that she writes after every show. It's cool. You see what was done in rehersal and then cut from the live broadcast. I can't wait to get back to NYC and visit with my new friends again soon. Thanks Louis & Jamie, you made everything so much better just by being involved. Peace ! |
